Clearwater officer stabbed while attempting to arrest suspect

A regulation enforcement officer was stabbed whereas making an attempt to arrest a person accused of beating a lady.

The stabbing occurred round 10:forty seven p.m. on Saturday at 37 Causeway Boulevard within the Marina parking zone. 

Clearwater Police stated officers responded to 37 Causeway in reference to a male beating a feminine. 

Officers stated once they arrived Justin Shuford, 36, was being aggressive towards residents that got here to assistance from the feminine. 

Shuford was armed with a small knife that he had hid, and when the officers tried to take the suspect into custody, he stabbed and/or minimize three officers with the knife, officers stated. 

Shuford was charged with tried murder, aggravated battery on a regulation enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, and home battery.
