Deputies: Tampa firefighter accidentally shoots fiancée

A lady was shot Saturday after her fiancée’s handgun by accident discharged, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Workplace stated.

  • Lady shot within the thigh whereas driving
  • Her fiancé reached for gun which by accident discharged
  • She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening accidents

The incident occurred close to the intersection of Pasadena Avenue South and Park Road in Pasadena about 10:30 p.m.

Deputies stated that Logan D. McClain, 29, was a passenger in a pickup truck pushed by Mareth Reum, 28.

The couple was close to their residence when McClain, a firefighter and paramedic in Tampa, retrieved his gun from the truck’s middle console.

The gun by accident discharged and a bullet struck Reum in the proper thigh whereas she was driving, deputies stated.

McCain rendered help to Reum and positioned her within the backseat of the pickup truck.

As McCain drove towards a hospital, he was stopped by a St. Petersburg Police officer.

An ambulance transported Reum to Bayfront Medical Middle, the place she was handled for non-life threatening accidents.

The Sheriff’s Workplace stated McClain has a legitimate hid carry allow.

Foul play shouldn’t be suspected within the capturing, deputies stated.

The investigation is ongoing.
