Florida Keys reopen to tourists three weeks after Irma

The Florida Keys reopened to vacationers Sunday, Oct. 1, three weeks after Hurricane Irma devastated the world and induced tens of tens of millions of dollars in damages.

Florida Keys officers requested individuals to postpone their journeys till right now, seeing as Hurricane Irma took out energy grids and water provides. These have since been restored. 

Governor Scott was in Washington, D.C. late final week speaking about Florida recovering and the push to get again to regular: 

“Our state has come again robust. We have now our energy again. Individuals are again in enterprise. The world that acquired hit the worst, for long run injury, is the Keys. It is from about 23 miles north of Key West for about 20, 25 miles and we received every part. They received 9 plus foot of storm surge. They obtained wind, rain, its devastating down there.”

Tourism is a billion greenback business for the Keys.
