The Lake County Sheriff’s Workplace says somebody deserted a number of horses and different animals at a property on the Lake County aspect of DeLand, by leaving them on another person’s property.

“As far a we all know, the horses have been deserted and so the proprietor simply stopped caring for them and left them on another person’s property,” stated Whitney Boylston, the Lake County Animal Shelter supervisor.
Officers say they eliminated eight horses, two ponies and three canine.
“They have been a bit on the skinny aspect. They undoubtedly wanted additional care and a spotlight, they have been not in prime situation,” stated Boylston.
Boylston stated it is troublesome for them to look after livestock and are grateful for donations just like the one they received on Friday of bales of hay.
Misfit Animal Rescue says they raised greater than $500 and used that cash to purchase a shade tarp, feed and hay.
“The group right here in Lake County has simply been overwhelming in making an attempt to return out for this and Houston and the whole lot else. It has been superb,” stated Kent Weber with Misfit Animal Rescue.
Shelter officers hope to place the horses up for adoption within the subsequent couple of weeks.
Authorities say they have not heard something from the proprietor. No fees can be filed.
