Lancaster man charged after firing gun into home with children inside, police say


MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY– A Lancaster man is dealing with fees after police say he fired a shot into his neighbors residence final yr where 4 youngsters have been enjoying.

David Sterling, 56, was charged earlier this month for the incident which befell on November 2, 2017 alongside the 2700 block of Orchard Street in Manheim Township.

Police say Sterling’s neighbors heard a loud noise and found shattered glass of their lower degree household room.  A bullet was discovered lodged in the sofa cushions, in accordance with police studies.  At the time of the incident, 4 youngsters have been within the household room. Two of the youngsters have been sitting on the sofa and two others have been enjoying close by on the ground, police stated.

Sterling is charged with four counts of recklessly endangering another individual and one rely of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

Sterling was released on $10,000 bail.  A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for September 14.
