Man arrested for looting restaurant during countywide curfew, deputies say

Mark Elortegui of Lakeland was arrested on expenses of housebreaking throughout a state of emergency, grand theft, VOP, and violation of curfew on Wednesday, Sept. thirteen. 

Deputies stated Elortegui stole $300 value of alcohol from Dona Julia’s Mexican Restuarant on Sept. 12 through the state of emergency, and after the midnight to five a.m. countywide curfew. 

Deputies orginally responded to the Wilmington Flats simply earlier than midnight Tuesday after witnesses stated they noticed a suspect yelling and appearing erratically in a breezeway on the condo complicated. 

Deputies decided that Elortegui matched the suspect seen in surveillance video from the Dona Julia’s housebreaking. Elortegui admitted to burglarizing the restaurant, stealing meals and alcohol. 

Deputies stated Elortegui has a earlier felony historical past of possession of Xanax, trespassing, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, VOP, and DUI.

He was booked into the Polk County jail.
