Mayor wants Friends of Hemming back in charge of park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Months after the mayor and Metropolis Council selected to finish the town’s contract with Pals of Hemming Park, it seems the group and the town are pals once more.

Questionable spending and poor bookkeeping by the group, which had managed the town-owned park since September 2014, led metropolis leaders to say final November that they might not be renewing the contract, which was set to run out on the finish of March.

However Mayor Lenny Curry appears to have modified his thoughts.
