DOVER, Del. (AP) —
Delaware prisons have been placed on lockdown following a reported hostage taking on the state’s most safety facility.
Geoffrey Klopp, president of the Correctional Officers Affiliation of Delaware, stated he had been advised by the Division of Correction commissioner that jail guards had been taken hostage on the James T. Vaughn Correctional Middle in Smyrna.
A DOC spokeswoman stated solely that an emergency state of affairs was reported on the Smyrna jail late Wednesday morning. The power was positioned on lockdown, as have been all prisons within the state per DOC coverage. Spokeswoman Jayme Gravell offered few particulars however described the state of affairs as an remoted incident, including that there was no menace to the general public.
