Plaque on Waldorf Astoria clock stolen, thief turns himself in, NYPD says


The person who stole the dedication plaque from the Waldorf Astoria clock within the constructing’s foyer turned himself into lodge directors on Thursday, police stated. 

Brian Kromer, 27, of Stuyvesant City, contacted the lodge, saying he had the plaque and needed to return it, cops stated.

When he met with directors later that day, police arrested him. 

Kromer had swiped the plaque the week earlier than. He was caught on digital camera at about 1:10 a.m. on Feb. 28, eradicating it from the historic clock, exiting the constructing with two ladies and haling a taxi, police stated.

He has been charged with petit larceny and legal possession of stolen property.
