A Mastic Seashore man was arrested this week and charged with animal cruelty after authorities discovered he had “severely” uncared for his cocker spaniel, which required sedation for remedy of “extreme matting” and “dental and eye points,” the Suffolk County SPCA stated Wednesday.
The canine was taken to the City of Brookhaven Animal Shelter on Aug. thirteen, authorities stated.
The SPCA stated Paul Hatch, forty one, charged on Sunday, is scheduled for arraignment in First District Courtroom in Central Islip on Oct. 24.
SPCA Chief Roy Gross warned that animal cruelty won’t be tolerated in Suffolk County and the company has requested anybody who witnesses animal cruelty or neglect to contact the SPCA at 631-382-7722. All calls will stay confidential.
