Springs parents accused in infant's death

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The mother and father of a 6-week-previous toddler who died at their Colorado residence in February have been charged with first-diploma homicide and baby abuse leading to demise.

Colorado Springs police say they arrested 21-yr-previous John Ostranger and 23-yr-previous Donica Mirabal on Monday. The El Paso County Coroner’s Workplace says that Zayden Ostranger died because of extended, intentional neglect and lack of care.

On Feb. 28, police and firefighters have been dispatched to an condo to research a report of an unresponsive baby. Firefighters discovered the toddler lifeless in his bassinet.

In accordance with police, Mirabal informed them that she smoked marijuana throughout her being pregnant and that Zayden was born untimely at 36 weeks and 6 days.
