WASHINGTON — Russia and different adversaries will proceed to interact in cyber warfare to “degrade our democratic values and weaken our alliances,” the nation’s prime intelligence official stated Tuesday.
“Frankly, america is underneath assault,” Director of Nationwide Intelligence Dan Coats advised the Senate Intelligence Committee, including that each side of society is being focused with cyber intrusions.
In unequivocal language, Coats stated Russia President Vladimir Putin has been emboldened by Russia’s profitable interference within the 2016 elections and is concentrating on the 2018 election cycle.
“There must be little question that (Putin) views the previous effort as profitable,” Coats stated.
