An assistant professor of sociology on the College of Tampa has been relieved of duties following feedback he made on a personal Twitter account relating to Harvey’s impression on Texas, the college stated Tuesday in a press release.

Kenneth Storey reportedly made feedback on Twitter “that don’t mirror UT’s group views or values,” the varsity stated in a Fb publish. “We condemn the feedback and the sentiment behind them, and perceive the ache this irresponsible act has prompted.”

Storey’s tweet said: “I dont consider in on the spot karma however this kinda feels prefer it for Texas. Hopefully this can assist them understand the GOP doesnt care about them”

He tweeted an apology, saying it was a collection of tweets that have been taken out of context.

The varsity Tuesday morning stated Storey was relieved of his duties, “and his courses shall be coated by different sociology school.”

“As Floridians, we’re nicely conscious of the destruction and struggling related to tropical climate,” the varsity assertion stated. “Our ideas and prayers are with all impacted by Hurricane Harvey.”
